Learning to lead outside the box: A lesson on changing the World.
Leadership is a remarkable and powerful quality to have, it separates the innovators from the followers. The people that change the world are not afraid to take risks, to stand out from the crowd and to fight for what they believe in, they lead with love from the heart and the best part of it is that they are secure in their actions. A Leader is so different to that of a dictator.
A dictator is one that has a dogmatic belief and plays the same card all the time, these are insecure individuals that cannot think of themselves, so they create trouble amongst their followers and cause unnecessary hardship and unhappiness in the crowd. How many dictators do you know that are remembered with love and adoration?
A Leader will change the world and be remembered for lifetimes, a dictator will lose his empire and the love of his followers. Even if you are just an ordinary man, you have a choice. You can either be a leader and follow your own path, make your own rules and stand strong with your decisions. Or you can be a dictator and bully people, force them to do things to gain your acceptance, one day they will not listen, that is a guarantee.
“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” ― William Arthur Ward
“I don’t care if you’re black, white, straight, bisexual, gay, lesbian, short, tall, fat, skinny, rich or poor. If you’re nice to me, I’ll be nice to you. Simple as that.” ― Robert Michaels
“Our chief want is someone who will inspire us to be what we know we could be.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Don’t follow the crowd, let the crowd follow you.” ― Margaret Thatcher
“Listen with curiosity. Speak with honesty. Act with integrity. The greatest problem with communication is we don’t listen to understand. We listen to reply. When we listen with curiosity, we don’t listen with the intent to reply. We listen for what’s behind the words.”
“Let the improvement of yourself keep you so busy that you have no time to criticize others.”
“If your actions create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, then, you are an excellent leader.” ― Dolly Parton
“You are good. But it is not enough just to be good. You must be good for something. You must contribute good to the world. The world must be a better place for your presence. And the good that is in you must be spread to others….” ― Gordon B. Hinckley
“Leaders are not, as we are often led to think, people who go along with huge crowds following them. Leaders are people who go their own way without caring, or even looking to see, whether anyone is following them. “Leadership qualities” are not the qualities that enable people to attract followers, but those that enable them to do without them. They include, at the very least, courage, endurance, patience, humor, flexibility, resourcefulness, stubbornness, a keen sense of reality, and the ability to keep a cool and clear head, even when things are going badly. True leaders, in short, do not make people into followers, but into other leaders.” ― John Holt
Take the wisdom of these quotes and apply them to your life. Be an innovator and not imitator. Imitators follow trends and worry about what people will think of them. Innovators create trends. They build up large empires and change the world.
